Blessings in disguise
Sometimes I really try to see the blessing or lesson in each situation. There have been a lot of those this week. Want to hear about them? If not....tough! First blessing is Toddler is turning 3! A small celebration was planned. You know the quaint 5 kids 10 adults. Well 40 some more people later we have a party. Blessing here: We have friends and family to celebrate with. Second Blessing...We live in the desert! I mean 116 degrees before noon kind of hot! How are we to accommodate that many people for Toddler's big day? Easy, we are having a birthday breakfast at the park with a bounce house and the kids come in their jammies. Plus it's over by 10am so everyone can still have a full weekend. Blessing here: I don't shovel snow ever! And our winter wardrobe takes up very little room. Third blessing is I officially went back to work to set up the classroom. I already miss Toddler and he's right here. Blessing here: I have a job. Fourth blessing is we all have Dr.'s appointments next week that are full of shots. Blessing here: We have insurance and adequate health care to keep us healthy. Fifth blessing is school/work begins on the 10th of August but I don't get my first paycheck until September! Blessing here: I have an income. Sixth blessing, I was selfish and angered when a family member refused an invitation to Toddler's party and has basically refused to be part of Tweens and Toddlers' life. What hurts is I don't know why and Tween really "idolized" this person. Blessing here: My SIL let me vent and then we all met up at Applebees. It's good to have family! All of them! Seventh Blessing is Tween's mouth tends to say things quicker than her brain can register if it is appropriate or not. Blessing here: She's got opinions, is not mute, and I can still send her to her room and shut the door because we have a home. So what kind of disguises do your blessings wear?

My blessing in diguise is that Dan went on a business trip and now I have to take Sarah with me to the Beth, Priscilla, Kay conference this weekend. The blessing in this is that I won't have to be away from her, she is a great ice breaker and as it is, I am always learning new life lessons from her (she's already got teacher written all over her) and this weekend will most likely be no different.
ReplyDeleteI love your list. You really are quite an awesome writer. :)
Great list! BTW, Toddler's present is in the mail. Time got away from me, gee I wonder why. :) He should get it Tuesday or Wednesday. I think it is very cute. :)
ReplyDeleteGood idea on having a birthday breakfast. Perfect for Phoenix! How is he enjoying the backyard? Does he get much use out of it during the summer? How are the doggies?
Doggies are fine and the grass is hot!
